Surrounds

There’s so much to see and do on The Ninch (as we affectionately call it) for little tribes and big adventurers. Fill your days with swimming, surfing, snorkling, diving, fishing, paddleboarding and sea kayaking. Take it up a notch with a beach horseride, a cycling tour or a round or two at one of the 19 Mornington Peninsula Golf Courses.

Check out some of our favourite things to enjoy on The Ninch.

Family fun abounds on The Ninch. Little animal lovers will enjoy getting up close and personal with farm animals at Rain Hayne & Shine Farmyard and The Big Goose adventure farm, Australian wildlife enthusiasts should head to the Moonlit Sanctuary, and big reptile fans can’t go past Dinosaur World Somerville. Retro car aficionados will feel right at home at Charlie’s Auto Museum and Dromana 3 Drive In. If you have some quick-thinking detectives, head to Locked in Escape Rooms for a fun filled day of mystery and puzzle solving. When little tummies are grumbling, it’s time to visit a berry, cherry or apple farms to pick your own fruit.

Affectionately known as the Peninsula’s favourite walk is The Bushrangers Bay walking track. Forming part of the much larger Two Bays Trail, the Bushrangers Bay trail is a 5.4km return trek from the Cape Schanck car park, taking approximately two hours. It’s a stunning clifftop coastal walk descending to the sandy beach of Bushrangers Bay to explore the exposed basalt rock pools.

It’s always wine time on the Mornington Peninsula. With over 60 wineries and cellar doors, you’re sure to find the perfect glass, paired with varied gourmet offerings. Take a left from the motel carpark and you’ll discover some nearby favourites: Montalto Winery (8mins), Point Leo Estate (9mins), Paringa Estate (12mins) and Green Olive at Red Hill (13mins). Beer and spirit enthusiasts should check out local brewers, Jetty Road, St Andrews Beach and Devilbend Farm Beer Co, and the distilleries of Bass & Flinders, Chief’s Son, Jimmy Rum, and Penni Ave.

Stay. Explore. Eat. Drink. Play.
